The Yusuhara Wooden Bridge Museum in Japan was explored through three distinct mediums, each part lasting a week. The first phase involved modeling the museum in Rhino 3D modeling software. The second phase focused on creating a construction guide for a physical model. This process involved breaking down the building into fragmented elements and organizing the individual components into a step-by-step guide for reconstruction. The final phase was the construction of the physical model. Using only plywood sheets and wooden dowels, the model required precision and skillful handling of equipment such as the band saw and sanding machine. The hands-on process offered a deeper understanding of the museum’s construction, assembly, and the materiality of wood.
